Day 1. Nairobi / Samburu
Pick up from airport or city hotel and transfer for your Samburu air safaris, Check-in at Airkenya passenger terminal for either 0830 or 0915 flight to samburu. Arrive Samburu airstrip and will be met by a Saruni representative and transfer to Samburu Saruni/Similar. Enjoy a game drive en route.
Perched on a spectacular viewpoint‚ Saruni Samburu’s six luxury villas are open and spacious‚ heralding spectacular views over Kenya’s Northern Frontier District and Mount Kenya in the distance.
The Samburu are the indigenous nomadic tribe and custodians of the area where the lodge is found. Guests have the unique opportunity to witness‚ interact with and learn from one of the oldest remaining tribes in Africa. Our guides are Samburu warriors who are professionally qualified‚ but more importantly‚ who share their authentic local knowledge‚ ancient traditions and customs with guests.
The lodge has two large swimming pools with dramatic view over Samburu land‚ a waterhole that attract elephant‚ reticulated giraffe‚ zebra‚ Oryx and all the species that make Kalama so special. Surrounded by a 95‚000 hectares private reserve and perched on top of a spectacular viewpoint‚ its villas and its swimming pool overlook the dramatic landscape of Samburu country. The vastness and the purity of this African landscape.

Day 2. Samburu
Early morning game drive into Samburu National Reserve and Buffalo Springs National Reserve‚ with picnic lunch. The area around Saruni Samburu is teeming with wildlife – from the giant herds of Samburu elephant coming to drink at the waterholes‚ to leopard making their lairs on rocky outcrops nearby‚ to endangered packs of African wild dog seen traversing the plains below the lodge. The area is also home to rare endemic species‚ including the Samburu Five: the Grevy’s zebra‚ Reticulate giraffe‚ Beisa Oryx‚ Somali ostrich and gerenuk. alternatively‚ you can go for a morning walk‚ learning to recognize the famous raptors of Samburu as well as tracks left by animals during the night. During this walk‚ we’ll discover Samburu rock art in nearby caves‚ returning to the lodge for breakfast. Later on as the day cools‚ an evening game drive takes you into remote areas where the semi-nomadic Samburu people live‚ with the opportunity to visit one of their traditional settlements before returning to the lodge for dinner and star-gazing late.
Dinner and overnight
Day 3. Samburu / Nairobi
This the last day in Samburu. Lazily enjoy your breakfast‚ return to your room pack your bags and proceed to the reception for check out. Transfer vehicle will be ready for you o the airstrip enroute enjoy the last game watch. Arrive at Kalama airstrip on board Airkenya flight to Wilson airport. Airkenya flight from Samburu is estimated to arrive Wilson airport at 1305 approximately.
