Book Tanzania budget camping safaris, tours & trips Serengeti Ngorongoro Tarangire

Day 1.Arusha / Tarangire National Park (120km – 2 hours)
Pick up from Arusha Precious Inn Hotel at 0800am and drive on tarmac road 120km to Tarangire National Park (2,850 sq km or 1,005 sq mile’s) for game drives. Lunch picnic there after lunch continue with afternoon game viewing in the park, a home to Lion, Leopard, Elephant, buffalo, Python, Zebra, Oryx, Impala and more… Over 450 species of birds have been observed. It’s the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem – a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared Oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed. The swamps, tinged green year round, are the focus for 550 bird varieties, the most breeding species in one habitat anywhere in the world. On drier ground you find the Kori bustard, the heaviest flying bird; the stocking-thigh ostrich, the world’s largest bird; and small parties of ground hornbills blustering like turkeys. More ardent bird-lovers might keep an eye open for screeching flocks of the dazzlingly colorful yellow-collared lovebird, and the somewhat drabber Rufus-tailed weaver and ashy starling – all endemic to the dry savannah. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Twiga Campsite. Meal  Plan: {L,D}.

Day 2. Full Day Lake Manyara National Park
Breakfast at 0600am. Pick up from the Camp at 0700am and drive on tarmac road 60km with lunch box to Lake Manyara National Park (330 sq km or 127 sq mile’s) on the base of the Great Rift Valley, for the Afternoon game drives. Lake Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day. Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large water birds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks. The park is home to Lion, Hippo, Elephant, Zebra, Buffalo, Giraffe, Baboon, Blue and Vervet monkey, Warthog and more…About 350 species of birds have been recorded. This small park contains also five distinct vegetation zones. Thus supporting a large variety of birds and animals. The Manyara National park is also famous for its large flocks of flamingos. In this park canoeing has recently been added to the tourist activities in this park at extra cost. This is a great way to see the park from a new perspective.Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Twiga campsite. Meal  Plan: {B,L,D}.

Day 3. Lake Manyara National Park / Serengeti National Park (205km – 5 hours)
Breakfast at around 0600am. Pick up from the Camp at 0700am and drive to the Great Serengeti National Park (14,763 sq km or 5,700 sq mile’s) with your Picnic Lunch Packed and game drives en route via Ngorongoro Crater rim. Breakfast at around 0700am. Pick up from the Camp at 0800am and drive to the Great Serengeti National Park (14,763 sq km or 5,700 sq mile’s) with your Picnic Lunch Packed and game drives en route via Ngorongoro Crater rim. The Serengeti National Park is arguably the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world. During the months December through March the seemingly unending plains of the southern Serengeti and the  Conservation Area are inhabited by enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra. The great herds graze on rain ripened grass. Serengeti National  Park is a home to lion, leopard, Elephant, Cheetah, Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Eland, Wild dog, Gazelles, Crocs and more. Lot of birds includes the Eurasia migrants. Dinner and Overnight at Serengeti Seronera Campsite. Meal  Plan: {B,L,D}.

Day 4. Full Day Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, continues with both morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti national Park. Remember this is the migration safari, so as Serengeti is very large as your game drives will depend on the move of the migrants, your guide knows very well how to locate the herds. The Serengeti National Park is famous for the ‘Great Migration’, over one million wildebeest and two hundred thousand plus zebras each year follow the rains. In October and November they travel from the mountains of the north, southwards to the plains seeking lush pastures. After the great rainy season in April, May, and June the herds then make their return ward journey. Even without this mass migration, the Serengeti is still an exciting and spectacular place that still cannot fail to enthrall. Dinner and Overnight at Serengeti Seronera Campsite. Meal Plan: {B,L,D}.

Day 5. Serengeti National Park / Ngorongoro Crater Rim(145km – 3 hours)
Wake up at 0600hours for early morning game drives in Serengeti National Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration,
when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. At around 0900 hours drive back to the camp for breakfast. Then check out and drive with lunch and game viewing en route to Ngorongoro Crater Rim. OPTION: Visit the Olduvai Gorge at extra fee for the museum. Dinner and Overnight at Ngorongoro Simba “A” Campsite. Meal Plan:  {B,L,D}.

Day 6. Ngorongoro Crater Floor / Arusha (190km – 3 hours)
Breakfast at 0600am. Depart around 0630am for the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. With an estimated 25,000 mammals, you are sure to be overwhelmed at the abundance of wildlife that exist within the crater at any one time. Lake Magadi is a saline lake found on the Crater floor. The saline waters of this lake attract both lesser and greater flamingo, with flocks of several thousand forming when the lake is low. Other bird species that inhabit the Crater floor are ostrich and the Kori bastard, the world’s heaviest flying bird. It may also be possible to spot cheetah, who are nomadic and move in and out of the Crater. Leopard are highly elusive creatures, however they are most likely encountered in the Lerai Forest. After enjoying lunch we will head back to Arusha where your safari concludes. You may wish to add one of our optional activities as your next destination.
