Private Safari – minimum 2 people

The Wilds of Kenya and Tanzania

Day 1 – Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve
Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport at around 7:30 AM. From Nairobi, you’ll drive through the beautiful Great Rift Valley, stopping at the viewpoint to take in the spectacular scenery.
Continue towards the Maasai Mara and arrive in time for lunch. After settling in, head out for your first afternoon game drive in the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve.
The Mara’s open grasslands are home to an incredible variety of wildlife, so you may not have to wait long before your first exciting sightings.
Accommodation: Miti Mingi Eco Camp or Rhino Tourist Camp Comfortable permanent safari tents with stone-floored bathrooms and electricity.

Day 2 – A Full Day in the Maasai Mara
Today is dedicated entirely to exploring the Maasai Mara.
Spend the day searching for the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino — while exploring the reserve’s beautiful plains and river valleys.
You’ll also head towards the Mara River, the famous setting for the Great Migration crossings, which typically take place between July and October. Depending on the season and wildlife movements, there may be opportunities to see large herds gathering along the river.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the reserve before continuing your game drive through the afternoon.

Day 3 – Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park
Start the day with an early morning game drive, when the cooler temperatures often make it a great time to spot wildlife. Return for breakfast before beginning your journey north towards Lake Nakuru.
Later in the afternoon, explore Lake Nakuru National Park, driving along the shores of the lake and through its surrounding landscapes.
The park is famous for its birdlife and flamingos, as well as being an important sanctuary for endangered white and black rhinos.
Accommodation: Buraha Zenoni Resort or Lanet Matfam Resort Comfortable, budget-friendly hotel or lodge accommodation.

Day 4 – Lake Nakuru to Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, continue south on a scenic drive towards Amboseli, passing through the Nairobi area and continuing towards the Tanzanian border.
Arrive in Amboseli National Park in the late afternoon. If the weather is clear, you’ll be treated to one of East Africa’s most iconic sights — Mount Kilimanjaro rising dramatically above the plains.
Settle into your lodge and enjoy the beautiful surroundings before dinner.
Accommodation: AA Lodge Amboseli or Kilima Safari Camp Mid-range accommodation with a swimming pool and excellent views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day 5 – Full Day in Amboseli
    Today is all about Amboseli.
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives through the park, with plenty of time to explore its open plains and wetlands. Amboseli is particularly famous for its enormous herds of free-roaming elephants, often photographed with Mount Kilimanjaro providing a spectacular backdrop.
The park also offers opportunities to see lions, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, and a wide variety of birdlife.
Return to your lodge in the evening to relax and enjoy another night in the shadow of Kilimanjaro.

Day 6 – Amboseli to Arusha
After breakfast, leave Amboseli and drive towards the Namanga border crossing between Kenya and Tanzania.
Once you’ve completed immigration and customs formalities, you’ll switch to your Tanzanian 4×4 safari vehicle and meet your Tanzanian guide before continuing to Arusha.
The afternoon is intentionally relaxed, giving you time to rest, enjoy your hotel, and recharge before beginning the Tanzania portion of your safari.
Accommodation: Venus Premier Hotel or Tulia Boutique Hotel & Spa, Arusha.

Day 7 – Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, set off from Arusha for the short drive to Tarangire National Park.
Known as the park of giant trees, Tarangire is famous for its impressive elephant population, ancient baobabs, and beautiful landscapes.
Spend the day on game drives, following the park’s roads and wildlife trails in search of elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and other wildlife.
Accommodation: Sangaiwe Tented Lodge or Tarangire Osupuko Lodge Charming mid-range eco-lodges close to the park.

Day 8 – Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
Today takes you deeper into Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.
Travel through the scenic highlands around Karatu before climbing towards the outer walls of the Ngorongoro Crater. From there, descend towards the vast, open plains of the Serengeti.
The drive itself is part of the adventure, with changing landscapes and opportunities to spot wildlife along the way.
Continue towards the central Serengeti and the Seronera Valley, one of the park’s richest wildlife areas.
Accommodation: Osinon Serengeti Camp or Heritage Serengeti Camp Comfortable mid-range safari tents with proper beds and private flush toilets.

Day 9 – Full Day in the Serengeti
Wake up to the sounds of the Serengeti and spend a full day exploring this incredible wilderness.
Morning and afternoon game drives give you some of the best opportunities to see predators in action. Keep an eye out for prides of lions, cheetahs hunting across the open plains, and leopards resting in the branches of acacia trees.
The Serengeti is also home to elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, and countless other species.
If conditions are right, the early morning and evening light can make this one of the most memorable days of the entire safari.

Day 10 – Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Enjoy one last morning game drive as you make your way out of the Serengeti.
From the park, continue towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the spectacular crater rim. The scenery changes dramatically as you leave the open Serengeti plains behind and approach the highlands.
Spend the evening relaxing at your lodge in nearby Karatu.
Accommodation: Bougainvillea Safari Lodge or Eileen’s Trees Inn Comfortable mid-range lodges with beautiful gardens and a relaxed atmosphere.

Day 11 – Ngorongoro Crater & Lake Manyara
Today is another major highlight of your safari.
Descend approximately 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive of around six hours. The crater is a remarkable enclosed ecosystem with an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, making it one of the best places in Tanzania to look for black rhinos.
You’ll have the chance to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, and many other species against the dramatic backdrop of the crater walls.
Later, continue towards Lake Manyara National Park for a short evening game drive, with the park being particularly well known for its tree-climbing lions.
Accommodation: Your lodge in Karatu or Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp.

Day 12 – Return Journey to Nairobi
After breakfast, begin your journey back towards Arusha.
Stop for an early lunch before continuing to the Namanga border. From there, board an afternoon shuttle bus or take a private transfer back into Kenya.
Arrive in Nairobi at approximately 6:30 PM, bringing your 12-day Kenya and Tanzania safari to an end.

Whether you’re continuing your travels or heading home, you’ll leave with incredible memories — from the elephants of Amboseli and predators of the Maasai Mara to the endless plains of the Serengeti and the remarkable wildlife of the Ngorongoro Crater.
