12-Day Kenya Safari & Zanzibar Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi – Kenya
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where you will be met and transferred to your Nairobi hotel. Enjoy a relaxed evening and safari briefing.
Overnight: Nairobi

Day 2: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, drive to Amboseli National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Day 3: Full-Day Amboseli Safari
Spend a full day exploring Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drives. Look out for elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras and numerous bird species, with Kilimanjaro providing an iconic backdrop.

Day 4: Amboseli – Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, travel through the scenic Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha. Enjoy an optional boat ride to see hippos and birds on the lake.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara
Depart for the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve. Arrive for lunch before your first afternoon game drive across the Mara’s wildlife-rich plains.

Day 6: Full-Day Maasai Mara Safari
Enjoy a full day of game viewing in the Maasai Mara. Search for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and other wildlife. The Mara is also renowned for the annual wildebeest migration.

Day 7: Maasai Mara – Nairobi
Enjoy an early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Later, drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon. Spend the evening relaxing or exploring the city.

Day 8: Nairobi – Zanzibar
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival, transfer to your beach hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing beside the Indian Ocean.

Day 9: Zanzibar Beach Relaxation
Enjoy a full day at leisure. Swim in the warm Indian Ocean, relax on the beach, or choose optional activities such as snorkeling, diving or a traditional dhow experience.

Day 10: Stone Town & Spice Farm Tour
Explore historic Stone Town, famous for its Swahili architecture and cultural heritage. Continue to a spice farm to discover Zanzibar’s famous cloves, vanilla, cinnamon and other tropical spices.

Day 11: Zanzibar Ocean & Beach Experience
Enjoy another relaxing island day. Optional activities can include snorkeling, a boat excursion, dolphin experience, diving or simply enjoying your resort and beach.

Day 12: Zanzibar – Departure
Enjoy breakfast and your final moments on the island before transfer to Zanzibar International Airport for your onward flight.
